More than a theme, it's how we deliver on our promise.
The phrase, "if it matters, we're on it®," is so much more than
a tagline. As the driving force behind our brand strategy, it's a
call to action. It's the way we do business. And a constant reminder that we work to solve problems, invent solutions, and consistently deliver what matters most to our customers,
employees, investors and community.
Understanding our brand strategy and how to deliver the Valspar brand promise is critical to our success. Our brand theme, "if it matters, we're on it®," is a short phrase to help us remember, if it matters to our customers, it matters to us. And it reminds us that we prove our worth every day, keeping us motivated to deliver consistently on our brand promise.
Throughout history, our products have literally "been on" important items that mattered. Like an interior coating that made it possible to package beer in a can; protecting Charles Lindbergh's Spirit of St. Louis on its first flight across the Atlantic; and 1800s Yankee Clipper ships that fostered international trade. We're proud to be a part of these memorable, historical events that have helped to build our legacy.
And, today, our products protect and beautify some of the world's most recognized buildings and brands like John Deere®, Coca-Cola®, Caterpillar®, Whirlpool® and the Hong Kong Convention Center. Valspar coatings coat most of the 300 billion food and beverage cans produced around the world each year, KitchenAid® appliances and the National Aquatics Center, known as the "water cube," constructed for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. We're proud of our role in helping these and many other brands thrive and prosper.
Our theme also conveys how we do business. We focus on what matters to our key constituents - our employees, our customers, our shareholders and our communities. Operating with a sense of urgency and always with integrity, we respond to our constituents' needs and help them to succeed. By being "on it," we build strong relationships, trust and loyalty.
